It’s easy, full of flavor and perfect for those nights when you want something clean and nourishing but are just too tired or busy to spend much time in the kitchen. It’s hard to find a teriyaki sauce that’s soy free and refined sugar free that’s also bursting with flavor — very happy to report that this sauce recipe hits it out of the park and does just that.

When I don’t have my own homemade broth on hand my absolute favorite store bought bone broths and broths are from Kettle & Fire. The quality and taste does not compete. You can use code ‘celebrate’ for a discount if you grab some online!

Ingredients:

Chicken:
1 tbsp Coconut Oil
Salt and pepper to season chicken
6-8 organic Chicken Thighs

Teriyaki Sauce:
½ cup Coconut Aminos
2 tbsp + 1 tsp Coconut Sugar
¼ tsp Red Pepper Flakes
½ cup high quality Chicken Broth
4 cloves Garlic, minced
¼ tsp Ground Ginger
1 tsp Sesame Seeds
1 tsp Sesame oil
1 tbsp Arrowroot Powder
4 green Onions, chopped

Heat coconut oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.

As the pan and oil get hot, pat chicken thighs dry and generously season both sides with salt and pepper.

Add chicken to the pan without over crowding and allow them to pan fry undisturbed for 8~ minutes until golden brown and they appear as though they are almost cooked fully through. (You may need to adjust the heat to a higher temperature to ensure the golden brown appearance.)

While your chicken cooks, mix together sauce ingredients.

Flip chicken, add green onions and cook for another 5-7 minutes on medium heat.

Turn temperature to medium low and pour in sauce. Allow sauce to thicken while it bubbles and deglazes the pan.

Cover with lid for 3~ minutes once thickened and then toss the chicken in the sauce before serving.

Assemble on plate with rice, steamed broccoli, sesame seeds and enjoy!
