It’s true, there are days I look back on this past year wondering how I am still here. But something spoke to me during the darkness of those nights saying “it’s not time yet”. The harder things got, the more often I would hear this voice. I slowly started to trust that I would not only get through this — but that I would come out on the other side a warrior.
Surviving the sheer torture my body has endured for days and weeks and months on end is nothing short of a miracle. It’s in reflection of these moments I remember to never underestimate the resiliency of the human spirit.
It will surprise you when you least expect it, and it will transform you in ways you never could have anticipated. Learning how to trust that what I needed was innately in me through some of my darkest moments is in fact what got me through my darkest moments. You might be asking yourself “but how? how do I trust? how do I trust when I feel terrible?”
As humans, we really know how to overcomplicate things, don’t we?!
These things are a lot simpler than we often times make them out to be. Try starting with words like “I love you, body. I trust you, body. I trust you, cells. I trust you, spirit. Thank you. Thank you for this experience to grow and learn how to trust myself. I trust the path that is unfolding in front of me. thank you for this existence” …and so on.
When the physical body feels positive encouragement, it will kick into action and help us put the power back into our own hands. Do you feel the doubt creeping in after reading that? If you feel resistance, that’s good, that means we’re getting somewhere.
Your body was working long before you ever even thought about it working. It has thousands of processes happening around the clock that you likely don’t even understand. It’s only when we experience less than ideal feelings or symptoms that make us start doubting our bodies incredible ability to heal. During my worst pain flare ups that made my body feel like my skin was lit on fire and someone was simultaneously sawing off my limbs for days on end, you’d often find me smiling the biggest smile I could muster. Is this because I was happy? No, quite the opposite.
When you smile, your brain releases tiny molecules called neuropeptides to help fight off stress. Then other neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin and endorphins come into play too. The endorphins act as a mild pain reliever, whereas the serotonin is like an antidepressant. It is in this relaxed state — deep trust for letting things exist as they are in the present moment — that the body can start doing its healing. Lean into the uncomfortable feelings that is self trust. I promise that the more you do it, the more natural it will feel. When you are in this state of trusting the self — the body — the spirit — the heart — you start to align yourself in the energy of receiving abundance. Abundant health, abundant happiness, prosperity, faith, trust.
Trust for knowing the abundance you deserve *that is your birthright* will heal your physical vessel as much as your spiritual vessel. At first, I too felt the resistance surrounding this topic. I didn’t want that to be the answer, because it felt easier to hope that someone or something would come along and save me from this nightmare I was up against. That internal narrative changed when I started to trust.
It takes active participation. This doesn’t just happen on a whim. It doesn’t happen overnight. But the more you do it, the easier and more abundant your health and life will become. Challenge yourself in getting back to who you came into the world as. Health issues are a physical manifestation of what the spirit is suppressing.
It is a practice to decondition our mind — unlearning limiting perspectives and belief systems to rise above the victim mentality. It is in this space where the magic lies. Relax into the feeling.
Our desired outcome is manifested when we realize the keys already exist within us…it’s up to us to unlock them.
